Key Issues

A substantial proportion of Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) resources are spent on goods, services and works procured from third parties. As an agency of the Scottish Government, an effective and efficient procurement process is critical to meeting the government's overall objective of securing value for money in an open and fair way.

AiB's stated intention to tender the contract for Insolvency Services during 2008-09 financial year has generated a great deal of interest and some concern for agents. This event is designed:

  • To provide a backdrop to the Agency's decision to go to tender;
  • To provide a high level overview of the plan and approach to the forthcoming tender;
  • To share some of the Agency's initial thinking; and
  • To gain the views of existing Agents about potential improvements for the future.
