Diligence Website Pages Updated

07/01/2009

The diligence pages of the website have been updated to reflect an amended timeline for commencement of the changes introduced by the Bankruptcy and Diligence etc. (Scotland) Act 2007.

We will post information early in 2009 about changes to inhibition and arrestment in execution, which are expected to be commenced in April 2009.

We have also looked at the tables for calculating the amount that can be deducted from a debtor's earnings by diligence against earnings. The tables are found in Schedule 2 of the Debtors (Scotland) Act 1987. We intend to revise and simplify the tables and expect changes to be introduced from 6 April 2009. Further information will be made available as soon as possible.
