Debt Action Forum – Second Meeting
13 March 2009In January 2009, Community safety Minister, Fergus Ewing announced that a Debt Action Forum would be set up to ensure that the Scottish Government is doing everything in its power to help those in Scotland struggling with personal debt.
The group met for the second time on 11 February 2009, and discussed various issues, including ensuring that all those living in Scotland have access to the correct advice for their particular circumstances.
The Sub-Group of the Forum, which has been set up to look specifically at the issues surrounding the repossession of homes also met this day, with their discussion including such issues as improving access to the Mortgage Rights Act for those in danger of repossession.
