New Bankruptcy Fee Rates

25/03/2009

The Bankruptcy Fees (Scotland) Regulations 1993 set out the fees payable to AiB in bankruptcies. The regulations are amended with effect from 1 April 2009 by the Bankruptcy Fees (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2009 ( SSI 2009/97).

The changes introduced from 1 April are:

  • An increase in fees by 5% to reflect the increase in inflation since the last uprating - Note: there is no change to the new fees which were first introduced on 1 April 2008.
  • A change to the process on how we pay money to agents. In the future the amount actually paid to the agent will be treated as an outlay.
  • In addition, the regulations introduce a new fee for the administration of creditor petitions, but this fee will not come into effect until 1 October 2009.

A version of the 1993 Regulations showing all the 2009 amendments are detailed on the AiB website.
