The Debt Arrangement Scheme – Improving Access

Earlier this year, the Minister for Community Safety, Fergus Ewing MSP made a commitment to formally consult on DAS in order to consider options for future legislative change.

The consultation is now available on the Scottish Government's website and will run until 14 December 2009. Full instructions on responding to the consultation are contained within the document.

Following the closing date, all responses will be considered. We aim to issue a report on the consultation by 31 December 2009 and introduce new regulations by Spring, 2010. The report will be posted on both the website of the Scottish Government and Accountant in Bankruptcy.
