Important Changes to Debtor Applications

14/10/2009

A key change has been made to the Accountant in Bankruptcy's 'Debtor Application Pack 1' which has taken effect from 1 October 2009.

In line with National Minimum Wage increase on 1 October 2009 from £5.73 per hour to £5.80 per hour, maximum income threshold in applications using the LILA criteria will increase from £229.20 per week to £232.00 per week

Information on the above change has been sent out directly to the advice sector, noting that the new amount be observed when advising clients completing the form.

Any copies of Debtor Application Pack 1 issued by the Accountant in Bankruptcy will contain an insert outlining the change. AiB request that the same insert be included in all forms used from 1 October 2009. AiB hope to distribute revised forms in November 2009.

Due to time constraints in amending the Bankruptcy (Scotland) Regulations 2008 to reflect this change, AiB are unable to issue amended copies of Debtor Application Pack 1 in time for the increase.
