Shelter Scotland Event

22/10/2009

Shelter Scotland will be holding an event on 3 November to discuss the Debtor Protection Bill and the recommendations of the Debt Action Forum's (DAF) Repossessions Sub-Group.

This event is the first opportunity to discuss the recommendations of the Scottish Government's Repossessions Group, published earlier this year, and to hear about the Debtor Protection Bill on mortgage repossessions that will come before the Scottish Parliament this Autumn. This falls out of important work from DAF and the Repossessions sub-group in conjunction with AiB.

The conference will feature Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and other influential speakers, including many of those who took part in the Repossessions Group.

These topics will be particularly relevant for professionals and practitioners working in bankruptcy and insolvency; solicitors in private practice; voluntary sector advice providers; welfare rights staff; homelessness and advice staff in local authorities; researchers and academics and mortgage providers and intermediaries.

The event will take place on 3 November 9.30am - 3.10pm at Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Road, Edinburgh.

More information on this event is available from Shelter's website.
