Release of the 2008-09 Environmental Performance Report

The Agency Environmental Performance Report 2008-09 has today been published within AiB's intranet and website.

The report reflects that we have made significant improvements in some areas throughout the year. For example, total energy and water use has reduced despite an increase in the number of staff, resulting in a significant and encouraging reduction in consumption per head of employee.

The results of the report also demonstrate that there are some key areas that require improvement. For example, waste and paper usage has increased from the previous year. This is as a result of the additional work being created by debtor applications being handled directly by the Agency, this is perhaps not surprising, however we should continue to strive towards reducing our use of these resources whenever it is practical.

We are aiming to concentrate on these areas throughout the next reporting year and beyond. In addition, we will continue to demonstrate our commitment to minimising the harmful effect of our activities on the environment.
