What has changed?
There are a number of significant changes to bankruptcy, debt relief and debt enforcement in Scotland from 1 April 2008.
This section includes all the amendments introduced by the Bankruptcy and Diligence etc. (Scotland) Act 2007, (the BAD Act) up to 1 April 2008.
Changes to bankruptcy law only affect people whose creditors petition for them to be made bankrupt or who apply for their own bankruptcy after 1 April 2008. The previous rules still apply to petitions lodged at court and to anyone made bankrupt before 1 April 2008.
