Procurement Strategy

The Procurement Strategy outlines how procurement within AiB will support their overall vision for the business up to 2011. The Strategy illustrates how AiB will undertake a planned and sustained approach to procurement, in response to the McClelland Review, through three main themes of activity:

  • Policy and Procedures
  • Commodity Strategy Development and Implementation
  • Supporting Infrastructure

AiB aim to ensure the most efficient and best use of public funds, whilst mapping out the vision for the future of Procurement and Contract Management in AiB. The intention is to enable staff to work more effectively and efficiently towards the strategic aims of AiB whilst encouraging them to understand the impact they have on procurement on a day to day basis.

Priorities

  • Understanding and delivering best value for our customers by streamlining and automating AiBs procurement processes;
  • Developing performance scorecards to enable measurement of the supply chain and the Agency and the setting of targets to in turn have healthier supplier relationships, an agile and responsive supply solution and sustainability;
  • Benchmarking and collaborating with others; and
  • Continuous improvement in the way AiB delivers their services with and through suppliers.
