Frequently Asked Questions

Q12. How long will my bankruptcy last? (If bankrupt before 1 April 08)

Generally 3 years. It can be extended for periods of 2 years if you don't co- operate with your trustee. Your trustee remains in office for as long as it takes to finalise the administration of your estate; e.g. if you have property. So your bankruptcy may last longer than the period that you personally are bankrupt.
