Q28. How do I get and complete the Bankruptcy Petition? (Pre 1 April 2008 legislation).
Get a petition from your local Sheriff Court and fill it in. (You can get help from the money advisers mentioned in 2. You can also get a booklet by telephoning the Helpline.) Next, take a copy of the petition. Forward to Accountant in Bankruptcy, 1 Pennyburn Road, Kilwinning, Ayrshire, KA13 6SA . (Ensure you get a Certificate of Posting).
Take the actual petition and Certificate of Posting to your local Sheriff Court. They will charge you £71.
You also need proof of "Apparent Insolvency" (see Q3).
