The Scottish Government’s consultation on Bankruptcy Law Reform ended on 18 May 2012, with 129 responses.
A report summarising the responses to the consultation is published today.
In addition, we will make each of the responses to the consultation available online, where respondents have given permission for us to do so.
It is anticipated that a Bankruptcy Bill will be brought forward based on those proposals where there was support from stakeholders and further consideration will be given to the areas where there was less support. We are now carefully looking at all the points made and issues raised by stakeholders to consider the way forward, in order to finalise the Scottish Government’s official response to the consultation. This is expected to be published in October 2012.
We are grateful to all stakeholders who offered their views in respect of the proposals contained in the consultation, and for their patience whilst the responses are analysed and prepared for publication.
