Scenario

The debtor asked for a review of AiB’s decision to reject her Debtor application because she had failed to pay the fee within the required timescale. The debtor explained that she was on a low income and did not have the funds at the time to pay the fee.

Decision

The reviewing officer looked at the notes on the case. They noticed that the debtor had indicated on a few occasions that they would pay the next day but payment was never made. The reviewing officer was satisfied that payment had not been made within the 21 days and that AiB had extended the time for payment to be made. The decision was confirmed and the debtor application rejected.
