This guidance describes the general functions of Accountant in Bankruptcy, interim trustees, trustees and commissioners in relation to their responsibilities regarding bankruptcies which started on or after 30 November 2016.

This section refers to Part 3 of the Act, sections 39 to 49.

An interim trustee may be appointed to safeguard the debtor’s estate. See section 4.4 for further information.
