This guidance describes the general functions of Accountant in Bankruptcy, interim trustees, trustees and commissioners in relation to their responsibilities regarding bankruptcies which started on or after 30 November 2016.

No person listed below is eligible for election as commissioner:

the debtor
a person who holds an interest opposed to the general body of creditors
a person who is an associate of the debtor
a person who is an associate of the trustee in the sequestration
